Our Class

Today our class is getting ready for Open House. Since we will be doing a butterfly garden this year, we decided to make butterfly cookies for our parents. The students rolled out the dough, cut out the cookies and then came the fun part! We all painted our cookies with special cookie paint. I think that they turned out wonderful. What do you think?

New tropical bathroom mural

This is a bathroom mural that I recently painted for a client. If you look carefully you can see where I put the client's grandson's name in the sand along with his hand print. It is right next to the sandcastle. Ely loved seeing his name in the sand in Nana's bathroom!

THE LOCKED DOOR

Destiny has seen to it that our paths have crossed.
And my heart rejoices that you are my friend.
Yet often times, it is hard to get close to you,
For there seems to be this wall without end.

There are times I think I have come to know you.
Other times, your heart is closed and doesn’t want to share.
And it says to me with words unspoken
“Enter in, if you dare!”

So, I am left standing outside your heart’s door.
Knowing that there must be a key,
That will unlock the gate that guards your heart
That you protect so diligently.

I have tried so many different keys,
To unlock the door and come inside.
It doesn’t seem to matter which one I choose,
The entrance within is always denied.

So, I shall wait patiently outside the gate
Of an unyielding wall fashioned by you.
For the day that you unlock your heart’s door,
And I am invited to come through.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY

These are some pictures that I took at a local garden. Our class at school did a unit on butterflies and I know I learned more about butteflies than the students did. The kids help plant a beautiful buttefly garden. Thankfully, the teacher I work with has a green thumb because if I had been in charge of it, it would be dead. I think I will stick to just taking pictures.

Freedom

In a world that thinks it has the answers
We’re all out there with our questions in hand
If you think they have got the truth
You’re just burying your head in the sand.

They say the answers are in power
They’ll tell you it’s all about wealth,
Looking out for number one
Getting what you want, loving only yourself.

Oh yeah, the world thinks it has the solution
To all of our despair and lack of hope
But the answers they have given us,
Has led to a generation unable to cope.

Cause we’re are all lost without the light
Without it we’re unable to see
That the truth is in the love
And it's that love, that sets us free.

RAIN

As it patters
Softly and gently
On the rooftops,
On the paved streets,
And rolling hills.

Mama's loving, warm face
comes to mind.
And how she use to
tell me that,
Rain was from
Angels
crying in heaven.

FOR MY HUSBAND

A golden band placed upon my finger.
A promise made from my heart,
To have and to hold from this day forward
Together, "Till death we do part."

Yet, is love not meant to be eternal?
My heart beats that this is true.
For there is no force upon the earth,
That could take my love from you.

AN AUTUMN'S DAY

Golden leaves,
rustled noislessly
over the ground.
Their color
was rich and pure,
And fire seemed
to be the intensity
of their beauty.
Somewhere, a bird
sang his last song
before taking flight
To a far more
sunnny and warm place.
I had walked far and long,
On that path,
And my day was drawing near.
I stopped-
And turned to go,
My heart was filled
With such sorrow.
For this was
Such a lovely place.
Yet,
There was still
Another autumn day.

THE MISSION

"I'll go."
The words
filled with fear and joy
raged in my mind.
"It would be hard"
They said.
"I would make it"
They said.
I didn't know,
This was all I had known.
Security was here,
Uncertainity was there.
To leave in order,
to return.
I stepped forward,
Forgeting or not remembering?
Darkness swelled around me,
A scream escaped my lips
as a hand slapped me
and I breathered
my first breath
of life.
